From Twitter DMs to "I Do": Richa & Nikesh
Our story began over 12 years ago when he slid into my Twitter DMs in high school. What started as a simple message turned into a relationship that grew alongside us through every stage of life. We navigated long distance throughout college, built careers in different cities, celebrated milestones from afar, and learned that no matter where life took us, we'd always find our way back to each other. Last year, we finally moved into our first home together, making our wedding feel less like the beginning of our story and more like the celebration of every thing that came before it.
After waiting over a decade to say "I do," we wanted our wedding weekend to feel like a reflection of the life we'd already built together. We invited the people who had watched us grow from awkward teenagers into the couple standing at the altar, creating a weekend that felt just as much like a reunion as it did a wedding.
Our three-day, five-event celebration in San Diego blended our Marwari and Gujarati traditions in away
that honored both of our families while still feeling true to us. Every event, from the Welcome Party through the Reception, was thoughtfully designed to celebrate our cultures, our families, and the community that supported us throughout our journey.
One of my favorite details was wearing a custom Frontier Raas bridal lehengain the signature "Gajari" hue—a
vibrant departure from the traditional red that paid homage to my Rajasthani roots while feeling uniquely me.After 12 years together, the wedding wasn't about one perfect day. It was about celebrating every chapter that led us there—the late-night phone calls, airport reunions, new cities, first apartment, and all the moments in between.Looking around the room and seeing everyone who had been part of that
journey made the entire weekend feel incredibly full-circle.
