The Love Story That Was Always Meant to Be

For years, we lived in the same city - Mumbai, breathing the same air, walking the same streets, living lives that somehow never crossed.

And then, when neither of us was looking for a love story, life took us all the way to London.

That's where we met.

Two university students, completely unaware that we had just met the person who would become our greatest love, our best friend and, eventually, our forever.

What started in London became seven years of growing together. Somewhere between university days, endless conversations, laughter, adventures and all the little moments in between, we became inseparable. He became the person I could tell everything to, the person who knew me in ways no one else did, and the one who always felt like home.

We've lived through every kind of chapter together, the beautiful ones and the difficult ones, the moments that brought us closer and the ones that taught us how to hold on a little tighter.

For the last four to five years, our love has crossed the distance between Mumbai and Dubai. There were flights and farewells, countdowns and reunions, and so many moments when all we wanted was to be in the same place. But distance never changed what we were building.

If anything, it made us realise that home was never a city.

It was each other.

And between Mumbai and Dubai, we made the world our own little playground. We travelled, explored, discovered new places and filled our years with memories, always with my favourite person beside me.

So when Rahil planned our trip to Seychelles, I thought I was simply going away with my best friend to celebrate his birthday.

I had no idea he was taking me on the first trip of our forever.

From the moment I woke up that morning, he began giving me little letters. One after another, throughout the day, each one told a piece of our story.

He wrote about the years we had shared. About the moments that had shaped us. About how lucky he felt to have me in his life. And about how he couldn't wait for everything that was still waiting for us.

Letter by letter, he made me relive our journey without ever giving away where it was leading.

Until we reached the beach.

And there, surrounded by the beauty of Seychelles, stood the boy I had met seven years earlier in London - now my best friend, my soulmate and the man I had always hoped life would bring me.

He asked me to marry him.

And suddenly, it felt as though everything had fallen perfectly into place.

All those years in Mumbai when we never crossed paths.

The decision to study in London.

The moment our lives finally met.

Seven years of growing together.

The years of loving each other across Mumbai and Dubai.

Every flight. Every goodbye. Every reunion. Every adventure.

Every little moment had somehow been leading us here.

Maybe we weren't meant to find each other in Mumbai. Maybe we were meant to find each other in London, so that seven years later, he could bring me to a little piece of paradise and ask me to spend forever with him.
